Installation Process

Before you begin:
Ensure the ignition is off and the battery is disconnected to prevent any risk of electric shock or short circuits.

Step 1: Locate and Remove the DRL Module

Locate the DRL modules, typically mounted on the top or rear of the headlights. Unscrew the module using a T20 Torx screwdriver. On some vehicles, you might need to remove the bumper, fender, or even the wheels for better access.

Step 2: Detach the DRL PCB from the Heat Sink

Move the module to an appropriate work area. Identify the original thermal paste between the heat sink and the DRL electronic board. Using a craft knife, carefully separate the LED board from the aluminum. For some models, you might find it easier to use a thin screwdriver to gently push the PCB through the designated holes.

Step 3: Clean the Heat Sink

Once the board is removed, use a razor blade to scrape away any remaining thermal adhesive without damaging the aluminum. Clean the heat sink with isopropyl alcohol to remove any traces of thermal paste.

Step 4: Apply New Thermal Paste and Install the New DRL Module

Apply a line of thermal paste along the center of the back of the new LED PCB. Position the board on the heat sink, aligning the slots with the tabs. Apply even pressure and hold the board in place with clamps while the paste cures.

Step 5: Allow the Thermal Paste to Cure

Wait 1 to 2 hours for a full cure before moving on with the installation.

Step 6: Reassemble the DRL Modules

Remove the clamps and reconnect the modules to their respective connectors. Replace the module into the headlight housing and secure it with the T20 Torx screws—be careful not to overtighten, as this could damage the plastic housing.

Step 7: Enjoy the Final Result

Congratulations! Your new DRLs are installed. Take a moment to appreciate the transformed look of your vehicle. Whether you opted for a single-color version or an RGB model, your car now sports a unique, distinctive flair.
